弗朗索瓦·奥朗德胜出法国总统选举

PARIS - French president Nicolas Sarkozy on Sunday conceded defeat to his Socialist challenger Francois Hollande in Sunday's presidential runoff, adding that he had called his rival and wished him "good luck."

法国总统人尼古拉·萨科齐承认在周日的总统决赛中败给了社会党总统候选人弗朗索瓦·奥朗德，并表示已经致电弗朗索瓦·奥朗德祝他幸运。

"The new French president needs to be respected," Sarkozy said on Sunday night to thousands of supporters as exit polls and partial official results all show a victory for Hollande.

投票后民调和部分官方结果都显示奥朗德胜出，萨科齐于周日晚对上千支持者说“新的法国总统需要大家的尊敬。”

"I am responsible for my failure in the election," the outgoing president expressed his thankfulness to his supporters, many of whom were crying.

“我应该对此次选举的失败负责。”即将离职的总统向支持者们表达了他的谢意，他们中很多人都哭了起来。

National TV channel France 24 said Hollande won the election with 51.9 percent of votes. Official result will come out soon and is expected to be largely in line with the exit polls despite possibly slight difference in terms of percentage.

国家电视台channel France 24 称奥朗德以51.9%的选票赢得了选举。官方结果很快就会出来，虽然在百分比上可能有略微出入，但是预计会与民调大体一致。

As Europe's second largest economy, France has 46 million registered voters, about 82 percent of whom were estimated to have cast their ballots on Sunday.
