Daisy Edgar-Jones revealed that she is no longer set to play Carole King in the upcoming biopic based on the West End show, Beautiful, after her role as the lead was confirmed back in 2022.

The star is set to star in the upcoming film Twisters and has been promoting the film alongside Glen Powell, her co-star in this action-packed blockbuster.

While promoting the film, she revealed that she is no longer set to participate in Beautiful.

In an interview with Variety, Daisy was asked if there were any updates on this role.

‘That’s no longer happening. I love Carole and I love that story, but it was a year ago that they decided [to no longer pursue it],’ she revealed.

The actress revealed that she trained for the new role but added that the script needed to be developed: ‘I did learn a lot of piano. I think it’s a gorgeous story, and the script probably needs a little more time in the oven.’

Variety then added in an Editor’s Note: ‘Sources tell variety that the project is still in development at the studio without Edgar-Jones. When news of her involvement broke in 2022, her deal was not yet closed and last year’s writers and actors strikes delayed the project further.’
